Theresa Richards is going to have a very happy Christmas after winning a big bingo jackpot. She won £26,498 at the Gala Club in Stonebridge Lane, Farnley.

Theresa, 30, completed a full house in the National Bingo Game in just 43 numbers, sharing the £50,000 top prize with another player from London.

"At first I didn't realize that I'd won the national – I just thought I'd won the house prize!" Theresa is planning to use her prize to pay off all her debts and take her family on holiday – but she will also buy herself a three-piece suite.

"I've only ever had second-hand suites in the past, but now I can have a brand new one of my own," she said.

Josie Merrick, Gala Club manager, said: "She was in shock. We had to pour brandy down her neck to get her to sign the claims form!"
