A woman, who was only identified as Rebecca, was the lucky winner of a £10,000 bingo national jackpot. She was playing bingo with her family at the Leeds-based Gala Bingo Club in Stonebridge Lane, a club that is known as a lucky venue due to the several prizes it has awarded.

The 29-year-old player, said she went to the Club with her family as a present to her grandmother, who turned 67 on that day and usually plays there. The winner also confessed that, although she likes bingo, in the past three years she has only played twice.

Rebecca’s family planned to treat her grandmother with a session of bingo. However, they all continued playing afterwards. “My sister and I just laughed all the way through the next game,” Rebecca explained. “My older sister was supposed to be joining us but she couldn't find her car keys so was unable to come.”

When asked about how she would spend the money, the winner said she and her partner Neil would probably use the bingo prize to go on vacation and pay part of their mortgage. As to playing again, Rebecca assured she would most certainly try her luck at bingo again soon.
