The Mashpee Wampanoags’ tribe is planning to open a casino in Beacon Hill, Boston. If denied permission, they will open a ‘Bingosino’ instead.
‘Bingosinos’ are casinos that feature bingo slot machines instead of video slot machines. Those bingo slots are allowed even in Massachusetts, where regulations ban slots. The main reason: the wiring system in bingo slots is not the same as the one used in video slots.
The difference is that on bingo slots, players bet against each other and not against the house.

Representatives approve tax reduction for bingo halls

The North Dakota House has approved a tax reduction for bingo halls, in an attempt to repair some of the damage caused by the smoking ban that came into force two years ago. The prohibition forced several bingo parlors to close and players escaped to Minnesota, where smoking in public places is allowed.
The new legislation, which is expected to save bingo establishments $2.1 million in two years, was endorsed by the Senate and moved to Governor John Hoeven’s office. Currently, bingo games are subject to the State’s 5 percent sales tax.

It seems that Sacramento County will not be able to approve the proposed new rules for electronic bingo machines any time soon. New questions, some of them from tribal casino operators, have been made about the scope of the anticipated government ordinance.
Indian tribes say they are in doubt about the legality of such machines and have requested officials to postpone any decision. “We would like to come up and talk with them and share our concern,” Anthony Miranda, Chairman of the California Nations Indian Gaming Association said.

Grandma wins a £101,224 prize playing bingo

A 71-year-old English woman from the city of Bolton, northeast England, took home a prize of £101,224 playing bingo at her local Mecca Bingo Club after winning the National Game prize.

She has been a bingo fan for a long time and visits her local bingo club almost everyday after work with a friend. They have become bingo partners since then and have won some prizes but never one this big, they use to share the money they win and this time was no exception. The winner said she could just remain sited, shaking and crying for the emotion.
