Bingo Parlor closed in Florida

A man who owns a bingo parlor refused to close and move out of the ruined Coral Square shopping center, agreed with a developer from Coral Springs who has a redevelopment plan for the mall. It consists of a $40 million dollars investment that aims to catch the attention of important retailers and a cinema.

Tulepan Management, Coral Square owners, and Mike Farout, the owner of the bingo hall, made an agreement previous to the hearing before the city’s Construction Board.

Brazil to legislate bingos

A group of Brazilian businessmen created the “Movement for Bingo” (MPB) in order to adopt strategic actions and defend an immediate legislation for the Bingo activity, besides discussing an adequate model for business action.

An Allenton couple won £221,402 at Gala Bingo in Liversage Street, Derby. They both are in their fifties and hit the jackpot during a special game that links different branches of Gala Bingo from across England.

The couple plays bingo every week but usually goes to the Gala Bingo in Forester’s Leisure Park in Sinfin Lane. The husband said that on that particular night his wife asked him to go to the one in town because she felt lucky.

Students’ documentary shows that Bingo is more than just a game

A group of five students of Colby College in Maine filmed a 30-minute documentary about the way bingo helps to build bonds among players and creates a sense of community. The film is called “Town Hall”.

Lillian Hannigan (57) appears in the film. She has overcome several health problems, including an aneurysm, and says in the documentary that bingo has given her the power to go on. “Bingo is my community therapy, an opportunity to spend the evening among friends”, Lillian says.

Pensioner wins bingo jackpot twice

Alan Smith, 68, had been retired from his job for about a month when he won the £53,000 jackpot at the Mecca Club in Norwich. Twenty years ago he won his first bingo jackpot and he was thrilled to find history repeating itself.

The grandfather of two completed a full house in 39 calls, which granted him £50,000 in the National Bingo Game. He also won £2,819 for the regional prize as well as £71 from the club.

The Indian tribe, Catawba, the only tribe acknowledged by the state, is trying to move its plan to build a high stakes bingo hall in South Carolina.

No bingo for three months! Magistrates from Wales declared an anonymous couple guilty of Parental Negligence because their son was skipping classes. The court ordered the couple to stay at home between 7 P.M. and 7 A.M. for 90 days, this way, the court hopes that the parents will encourage their son to attend school.

After several different and unsuccessful methods that were applied for almost a year, the court took drastic punitive measures when they learn that the couple were attending bingo games and going to local pubs instead of taking care of their problematic son.
